How do I change the batteries in the HP Bluetooth Mouse x4000b?  After I remove the top cover exposing the batteries, I canNOT for the life of me get them out!  I cannnot find anything about it in the documentation that came with it, or online (Quick Setup or Bluetooth Pairing Guide).  There must be some easy trick that I am just not getting.  Help!

Hi,

Very hard isn't it, this is how people gets Engineering degree. But please try:

  • Remove off the cover (you've done that),
  • Press down on the two plastic tabs just above the batteries and this releases a small plastic holder which you then just slide completely out and set aside (hard bit)
  • With this holder out of the way, the batteries have plenty of clearance and can be removed by hand.
  • Replace the batteries, put the plastic clip back into place, reattach the cover, done.

Regards.
