Brightness Function Keys( f2 and f3) NOT Working

Hi,

Try the following.

Download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64343.exe

When this installation has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, download and install the HP System Event Utility on the link below.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp70001-70500/sp70439.exe

When done, download and reinstall the Intel HD Graphics driver on the following link.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64376.exe

When the graphics driver reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook again and let Windows fully load before checking the f2/f3 keys.

Regards,

Brightness Function Keys( f2 and f3) NOT Working

The chipset and graphics drivers link is not suitable for my notebook as it shows a message something like system dont reach minimum requirement after installation.

But i follwed the same process with my notebook drivers that i have downloaded from hp support but still the brightness keys are not functioning.

Hi,

Hold down the Windows key and press R.

Into the Run box type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.

Expand Display adapters, right click the Intel device, select Properties and then click on the driver tab - let me know the 'Driver provider' and the 'Driver version' listed here.

Do the same for the Nvidia gpu.

Regards,

Brightness Function Keys( f2 and f3) NOT Working

Hi,

Well that does explain why your f2/f3 keys aren't working as you only have the basic Microsoft driver installed - if the Intel driver was previously installed Ok, this may indicate a hardware issue.

What happens if you try to install the Intel HD 5500 driver directly from Intel - it's the 2nd file in the list on the following link.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics+5500+for+5th+Generation+Inte...

If this does install Ok, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load for a couple of minutes before checking.
