Broken Hinge - Design Flaw

HP Envy M6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased my Envy M6 in the fall of 2012 and for the past several months I have been having issues with the right hinge. Most recently, it has been pulling apart the screen and the hinge itself appears to be broken; all of which makes it incredibly difficult to close the laptop smoothly. I know I am well beyond my warranty period, but this seems to be a well known design flaw on HP's part, any chance this can be resolved? I'd rather spend money to move over to a more durable platform such as a Mac, than spend money on a repair, so that's not an option for me.

thanks.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
