Can I replace my HP ENVY 15T-AE000 CTO (Touch) display with FHD matte screen?

ENVY 15T-AE000 CTO (Touch)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

I have HP ENVY 15T AE000 CTO (Touch) laptop. Mine is working just fine but since its now out of warranty period I was thinking of upgrading the display on the laptop. Currently I have 1366x768 resolution display. I want to upgrade it to the 1920x1080 (FHD) display. I have referred the manual for my laptop and found that the part number for the display 812690-001 for the FHD screen.

I checked on the hp parts website but this one costs almost $500. Is there any alternative for this? and most importantly can I do it? I have replaced parts on the laptop before so getting this done with the instructions won't be an issue. The issue is the price of the parts. Is there any other cheaper option for 1920x1080p matte display?

I would really appreciate some help.

Hi,

That is the price from the part store. You have to take into account labor cost this may ending up over $800 and with $800 you can buy a new machine.

My suggestion, sell it and put more money to buy new machine with FHD.

Regards.

I will replace the screen myself so there should not be any labor cost.

But is there any other cheap alternative for the LCD panel? Instead of buying this whole kit, can I reuse some of the parts that my laptop already has and just get the LCD screen for cheap from somewhere?

Hi,

If you wish a proper screen by from HP otherwise you can try eBay.

Hi,

You have to ask HP stores, I'm not working for HP,  just a volunteer.

Regards.
