Solved!

Can't Update Radeon HD 6xxx series Graphics Card past 8.8 (Switchable Graphics)

HP Recommended

I have one of those blessed HP Pavillion laptops with the beautiful, wonderful switchable graphics cards. I can't go to the AMD site and download any new drivers, I can't download the automatic updater, I can't even download catalyst anymore because my 'hardware isn't compatable'. I just want to get the latest drivers so I can play my games. This has been a consistent issue with my laptop since I got it and I can't figure out how to fix it. I desperately need help updating this.

Please, please help me. I've reformatted the pc, I've done everything I know how, and it will not budge the update. I just get error warnings stating my hardware is incompatible no matter what I try.

Try downloading the AMD Catalyst Control Center. It's a complete suite which should give you some options on the graphics.

Here's the link: http://www.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx

Go to the "Drivers + Support" tab and under "Latest AMD APU Drivers" select your system and this will take you to the download page.

All the best!

Leshcat clearly cares about the issues. I've discovered HP has no solution for this because switchable graphics were a failed beta test that went horribly wrong when AMD went back on its contract to write drivers for computers with them. So you have to go to Leshcat to get the CCC that works for your computer, because they actually care enough to write the drivers when HP and AMD doesn't.
