Can't install windows 10 on my laptop

HP Recommended
HP 15

I recently wanted to install windows 10 on my HP15 laptop which comes with windows 8 pre installed. I tried all ways of disabling secure boot and enabling legacy boot so that i may be able to boot from a bootable USB flash but to no avail. I then went to command prompt and deleted all my gpt partitions but forgot to convert to MBR, so i'm now stuck. There is no OS in the laptop now and it cannot allow me to install any operating system. It brings an error of "Selected boot image did not authenticate. Press <Enter> to continue".  I have tried almost everything including hardware reset but nothing is still working. Someone hook me up here coz this stuff is realy stressing me!

Hi @Hillz95,

Welcome to HP Forums,

this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you are having issues installing Windows 10 on your HP notebook. Don't worry as I have a few steps which should help to resolve the issue,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you made any software or hardware changes made on the PC?

Was there any update/reset interrupted, recently?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the notebook

Run the system diagnostics test as well as extensive test on the Hard drive from F2 (Please do remember to capture the failure ID for further assistance).

Depending on the test results, I would suggest you contact our  HP phone support to order a set of recovery media. Please fill in the product details to get the tech support number.

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone numberCase number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

Keep me posted for any other assistance,

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts,

mark my post as Accepted Solution.

And click on the Purple Thumbs up icon at the bottom of my comment.
