Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi,
I had a virus that messed up my laptop, I sadly didn't make a recovery disc, but I do have a copy of Windows 10 on disc, but every time I boot from the disc I get error, system_pte_misuse.
I discovered I could get passed the error by going into the BIOS and changing TPM from available to hidden. But I keep getting random crashes and I read somewhere that Windows 10 need TPM and it was enabled before I had to do a reinstall, so how do I get Windows to install with TPM enabled?
Thanks

Or can it not be done with a copy downloaded from Microsoft?

Hi @Ninko85

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your concern and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are having issues installing windows 10 retail copy on your computer.

I’d love to help!

I would like to know whether the Windows copy you are trying to install is a retail copy or you have downloaded it from Microsoft website?

I recommend you to order recovery media for your computer from HP and install the operating system. Here is how you can contact phone support.

Open link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/
Enter Product number or select to auto detects
Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number.

Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Take care!

Cheers!
