Chromebook 14 log in freeze

HP Recommended
chromebook 14

I have had multiple issues with this computer. I will not buy another one basically. I have had issues with the touchpad more than once after sending it into hp to have fixed. Today, my issue deals with the log in screen freezing up after I enter my password. I have attempted to call support only to be told that I need to extend my warranty in order to receive help. I think thats **bleep** considering the trouble I have had with this computer and that it's basically terrible customer service to have that be the only answer. So, here I am today to ask the community if anyone else has had similiar issues with their chromebook and if they may have answers.. I have restarted it  and still nothing. I do not want to return it to factory settings because I do not have it backed up and would prefer to not lose all my information. It seems like every answer to chromebooks problems is just return to factory settings and I think that it's rediculous. I do not download anything suspicious or use suspicious sites so it should not be virus related. I believe it is hardware related and I hope someone is able to help me.

Thank you!
