Compaq Presario CQ57-339wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the Compaq Presario CQ57-339wm which currently has the stock intel celeron b800 cpu in it and its really dated and slow, I know it is possible to upgrade to the intel i5 2430m cpu but Im not sure if i can upgrade to any socket pga 558 processor and was wondering if i should try and upgrade to any pga 558 socket or only specifically supported ones and if thats the case where is a list?

That is a dual-core 1.5 GHz CPU, fitting the FCPGA988 socket, with a 1333 Mhz bus.

The list of "mobile" and "Sandy Bridge" CPUs is at:

        https://ark.intel.com/products/codename/29900/Sandy-Bridge#@mobile

Not all in the list fit the FCPGA988 socket.

Not all of them use a 1333 Mhz bus.

You'll need to select from that list.

No guarantee, of course, that what you select will work with your motherboard.
