Compatible RAM for HP NOTEBOOK hp-14r233tu

hp-14r233tu
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am planning to upgrade the existing 2GB to 8GB RAM for my laptop hp-14-r233tu.

I did purchase a matched spec of 4GB RAM but the laptop won't boot up so I swapped with another RAM that I took from my another laptop which is completely fine but it still not working and  i assumed that this laptop is a bit choosy on RAM.

I searched on the internet and looked for the compatible RAM for this laptop and I found this

http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP---Compaq/hp-14-r233tu

But I'm not able to find the specific model Crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM CT6989962 to buy, and found something similiar to that, Crucial 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM (CT102464BF160B)

since I will buy it online, I'm not sure if  CT102464BF160B is going to work with the laptop and the seller asked me to refer to HP so I need help on this.

Thanks.

Compatible RAM for HP NOTEBOOK hp-14r233tu

Hi,

I have reffered this matter to the Crucial support and they have told me that the CT6989962 and CT102464BF160B actually  a same model but  differs by the resseler part number.

As for this laptop is quite choosy with RAM, I would advise anbody that going for an upgrade to check first before buying.

Thanks.
