DVD drive will not recognize CDs or DVDs after Upgrading to Windows 10.

Probook 6460b
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since upgrading to Windows 10 Professional (64) I have been unable to open CDs or DVDs on the installed GT50N optical drive. Device manager says the drive is working properly. When I insert a CD or DVD the drive acts like it is trying to read the disk, but eventually times out. The drive door opens and I get a message to insert a disk in the drive. This happens on commercial DVDs and software CDs. The disks work fine in my WIN7 computer.

Hello Dachiquoagan,

Unfortunately, 6460b does not have official Win10 support from HP. Windows 8.1 is the last Windows OS version supported on 6460b.

You can take a look at the supported OS versions, on the product support page here:
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5045601&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4051

If you're not on the latest BIOS, I would update it, found here:
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5045601&swItemId=ob_152511_1&swEnvOid=415...

I work for HP.
