Envy x2 stuck in safe mode

Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
My hp envy x2 13-j002tu is stuck on the login screen with only the option to shutdown, restart, turn on narrator etc but I am unable to login at all. I am in safe mode after my task bar disappeared and I could not access my desktop. Please help !

I understand that your notebook is stuck on the login screen.  I grasp you are in safe mode after your task bar disappeared and you were unable to access your desktop.

 

Here are some links that may assist you in overcoming this difficulty.

If none of the above has helped I would try a refresh your PC and then a system recovery.

You can also do the refresh from the Recovery Manager.

During the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files if you have not yet one done one to prevent data loss.
