Err1Err3???

so my hard drive on my notebook (dv6000) went bad and i replaced it and when i try to boot off a vista cd to install vista, it just goes to a black screen with "Err1Err3" at the top left corner.

i already did a diagnostic test from the bios and the harddrive and memory passed these tests.

can anyone help me out here, really appreciate it

The error seems to indicate that your laptop can no longer detect a hard
drive or other device it can use to start up with. This could be a hard
drive failure, a motherboard failure, or a failure of power or cabling
within the unit.

You may wish to consult with someone skilled in repair and troubleshooting
on laptops as they are very difficult for the average user to work on.

its a dv9000,

it passed hard drive, memory and motherboard tests

still has the err1err3 error, when i try to boot from the cd.

and i cant get a setting to boot from a usb external cdrom...

running out of options
