Failed Windows 8 to 8.1 upgrade with error "0xC1900101-0x3000D"

Hi,

I have HP 6360b (OS Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, CPU Intel i5 2410M, GPU Intel HD Graphics 3000, chipset Intel HM65, 8 GB RAM, HDD 500 GB Hitachi) and I can't install Windows 8.1 upgrade from Windows Store. The BIOS and the drivers are the newest I could find on the HP website.

I downloaded Windows 8.1 upgrade successfully from WindowsStore, started installation and then restarted my notebook and then, after about 27%, it stopped. On screen a message showed up that upgrade can not be installed, then computer restarted, get back to Windows 8 and before login screen the message with error "0xC1900101-0x3000D" showed up.

I uninstalled antivirus and all Modern apps that I installed from Windows Store and run upgrade - the same story, the same error code.

Then I unchecked in BIOS WiFi card, Bluetooth, WWAN, GPS receiver and even built-in camera and attempted to upgrade to Windows 8.1 - yet again it was impossible - the same error code showed up again.

In WindowsUpdate.log within C:\Windows folder I found a message "Failed to update the history status" near the error code - see below:

However, I can't understand what it means.

If anyone can help me with upgrade I would really appreciate it.

Sorry for my English - it is not my mother language.

With regards,

Jacek

Failed Windows 8 to 8.1 upgrade with error "0xC1900101-0x3000D"

Run Windows update to ensure you have all updates installed prior to 8.1 installation.  Including optional driver updates.

Disconnect external video and all other peripherals.

Try again.  Good luck.  It has worked for some and not for others.

Failed Windows 8 to 8.1 upgrade with error "0xC1900101-0x3000D"

Hello

I had the same problem with my new HP Pavilion 15-e057sz. After Installing Windows 8.1, I got the error

0xC1900101 - 0x30018 and the full installation got undone! I tell you, really, not nice...

After trying a lot of times different things, I finally got the right solution:

It was the actually drivers for Wlan and Bluetooth from Ralink (17.11.2013). After uninstallig both I could easy installl Windows 8.1. With the Driver for Wlan from Windows Update I even got my Wlan back to work. Now everything is working fine. I hope, HP will soon fix the WLAN and Bluetooth drivers and maybe also the AMD Driver, to get a better performance from the Videocard AMD 8670. Would be very nice!

Cheers, A HP-Fan.

Same thing here with a ProBook 450 G1. After uninstalling the Railink Drivers the update to Win 8.1 finally worked.
