Fingerprint Reader Does Not Work after Reimaging Hard Drive

HP ZBook 15 G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I had to reimage my hard drive due to other software problems.  Now I'm trying to reload drivers/software to restore the system.  Windows 7 recognizes the Validity sensor in the Device Manager, but in Control Panel under Biometric Devices it says "Windows did not find any biometric devices".  

 

I'm on a Domain, and I saw that the biometric devices might not work on a domain, but I was able to use it before I reimaged my hard drive.  I don't know if that is part of the problem, but I need to be able to use it.  Any ideas?

As I understand the fingerprint reader doesn't work,

don't worry as I have a few steps to help you out,

 

Here's a related post with a similar issue that seems to have helped others: Click here 
(Although the header may be different, the steps will solve your concern as well).

 

Step two: Follow the below steps:

·         Update the BIOS

·         Enable biometric support

·         Check for Windows support

·         Clean the fingerprint reader

·         Update the device driver

·         Update the fingerprint reader software

·         Find new device drivers if you changed operating systems

Fingerprint Reader Does Not Work after Reimaging Hard Drive

I contacted HP tech support via the chat function, and Nikhil M worked on my system, following the steps you suggested, but was unable to resolve my problems.  He said he would arrange for a technician to come onsite to fix my problem (since we have an onsite support contract), but I have not heard from him or anyone about scheduling this visit yet.
