G60 Laptop: No bootable device/hard drive not exist AFTER replacing the hard drive

HP Recommended
HP G60 Laptop

Hello, suddenly my laptop would not boot - "no bootable device" and took harddrive to computer store - it's dead.  So I ordered a new one and now I'm getting the exact same messages:

 - no bootable device

 - BIOS hard drive test - hard drive not exist

Any ideas?  Thanks!

New hard drive and still shows "no hard drive" in BIOS unfortunately means there has been a motherboard failure.
