Hi there @Vapingjay,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I read your post and wanted to reach out to help you!
To assist you better, could you please provide me with your Model Number (How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?)?
Have you tried to connect an external mouse and see if that works?
Have you tried to test the Hardware to see if it passes the component testing?
If not, please remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues, and run the Component Test on the Mouse.
I don't believe that you would need to install/reinstall the driver after switching the button. However, doing updates is always a great idea after you make changes. If you were swapping the entire keyboard, then I would say that you would do a reinstall of the component.
