HP Compaq NX6130 is dead

Lastly I did a BIOS update from the HP software and driver support. FOllowing that the laptop is starting up. When switched on power LED and battery LED goes on. Processor/Hard Disk LED goes on for while and goes off. All the sound I can hear if Fan sound continuously. If I insert a CD, processor/harddisk LED blinks for while and goes off. I can hear noise from CD drive during the same time and goes off. Any solutions for the laptop repair? Warranty has expired recently!!!Smiley Sad

Re: HP Compaq NX6130 is dead

The first thing to try is a hard reset.

  • Un-plug all accessories and the AC power adapter from the notebook.
  • Remove the battery using the eject switch beneath the notebook.
  • Let it sit without power for at least one minute
  • Re-attach the battery and AC adapter and power on the unit.

If that fails to work, I'm afraid it may be bricked.

Re: HP Compaq NX6130 is dead

I tried all that and still it is the same. Will there be any hope for making it work if the BIOS or CMOS memory is reset? Planning to send it for service, but want to make it certain it will work following the service!
