HP Envy 17 m7-u109dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I'm running Windows 10 64bit Creators Version on an HP Envy 17. I noticed a Bios upgrade available (file name 79747.exe) and went to install it, but the program doesn't update the bios. Everything seems to work fine as far as the program extracting and then preparing itself. It says "restart required" to complete the process, but when the computer reboots, it does so normally...in other words, there is no update process, it just goes to the Win 10 load screen and everything boots up like normal.

I have verified that the bios version has not been updated.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

you could try updating Bios from boot and UEFI instead of from within Windows. Here is link to HP support page. Follow the guide to updating  Bios when Windows does not start.

Hope it helps,
