HP ENVY TouchSmart 14-k032tx U
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

Computer won't start. When the computer is plugged in, the power light and wifi light f12 come on for a second and then turn off. When the computer is not plugged in, nothing happens. The light where the power source goes in.

Please advise.

If this problem is not solvable and I need to remove the harddrive to get my files. Can you please tell me what external hardrive enclosure that I can use for the hardrive in this PC?

Hello @yrusouseless,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome onboard!

Please, review the official HP interactive article about such issues you experience now. Follow the appropriate steps that fit your case to attempt to fix the issue:

If you did try everything mentioned there but nothing helped, I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service - HP Authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you will need to notify HP support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, please contact HP support for assistance in finding one. Here is more info:

With regards to the other questions - extracting data from the HDD:

Your PC comes with 2 drives : classic HDD and mSATA device. You can buy special USB adapters :

SATA HDD to USB  (HDD is 2.5 inch)

and

mSATA to USB

You insert the HDD or the mSATA device on one end and the other end is a USB for the other PC where you will be able to mount/access the data (if the HDD is ok). These adapters are cheap.

Here is the service guide for your model that will help you learn how to get the HDD/mSATA out > http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03960968

Hope this helps.
