Haii,  i had installed Win7 64-bit on it and got the same problem initally.

BUT, once i installed the BIOS update then reinstall the updated ATI display driver, I got it working now.

Now there is a new problem, everytime i tried to play HD video files, the display somehow screwed and resetted by Win. I could never play any HD video since it will crash the display card.

Might need better driver methinks!

Hi.

Please download ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Graphics Driver Catalyst 10.12. or search for ATI Mobility Catalyst 10.12. for HP-G62 (B51SE) Laptops.

Thanks.

This is your solution:

Get the latest hybrid driver for your notebook (i have almost the same G62-a00)

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51001-51500/sp51092.exe

Wrong! This SP won't help if you have to install the driver on a newly installed OS Windows 7 (unless HP has updated this SP recently).

Please, be sure of your solution before posting here.

Hello,

As I've mentioned in my previous posts, on HP's site you have only ATI drivers, but not Catalyst itself which is indispensable to make ATI driver work. To download the full version of ATI Catalyst 10.12. plz visit the following link http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=ru&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http://radeon.ru/drivers/amd/mobility/ and select the appropriate version of your OS Windows 7 (XP or Vista). I believe it will work!

Please reply 'Accept as Solution' if it solves your problem and click the KUDOS star on the left to say ~Thanks~

Gonzales999 is right, I installed the version 11.2 from the site he provided :  http://radeon.ru/drivers/amd/mobility/

and it worked.

Thank you... you are better than HP support themselves...
