HP Laptop Battery Drains While shutdown

hp 15 ac-124TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have noticed, that battry leval of laptop (hp 15 ac-124TX) decrease  around 4 to 5% in 12 hrs. Is it normal or somthing wrong. I have another hp laptop in which I never faced this situation.laptop is 2 months old only.please help me. thank you

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums!

 

I came across your post about your HP 15-ac124tx Notebook and issues with the battery not working correctly. Here is a document on checking the battery and testing.

 

Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

 

I would also check the Power plan options. Here is a link that shows you how to check that you are on Balanced option.

Try this from Microsoft.

  1. Click Start.
  2. In the Search programs and files box, type cmd.
  3. Right-click CMD, and then click Run as administrator.
  4. At the command prompt, type powercfg -restoredefaultschemes, and then press ENTER.
