HP Mini 110 - screen resolution problem

Hi, I recently got an HP Mini110 and was trying to extend the desktop. I changed the resolution but when I tried to use the LCD monitor on the Mini again, I couldn't get the right resolution and aspect ratio. I researched and found out that the maximum resolution is something like 1024 x 512, but it doesn't come out anymore. I wanted to get it back so I don't have a scrolling screen on the lcd screen.

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks in advance.

You are using XP I assume

You probably turned off the "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" in display settings when trying to connect the external monitor.

In display settings, try go into "Advanced" and click on the Monitor tab, check this "Hide modes..." again. You might have to reboot.

Re: You are using XP I assume

Thank you. This solved the same problem I had. Some program must have "flipped this bit". Any other "normal" display setting leave you cursoring around on a large desktop. Cheers !

Re: You are using XP I assume

Hi Charles - thanks for writing this here - I'm just searching and, in fact, looking for the exact *opposite* resolution (pun intended!) to the problem here - I wish to increase my Notebook's 'resolution' - and I'm running Windows 7, so when I follow your steps here for XP, unfortunately I hit a dead-end - if you happen to read this, will you please let me know how I can get to this menu in Windows 7?

Cheers and thanks in anticipation ...
