HP Notebook Stream 13

HP Notebook Stream 13
Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)

Hello

I was upgrading the OS from Windows 8 to Windows 10. As I let it upgrade I noticed that it said, "Restoring your previous version of Windows" then it would restart and do it all over again. I have an external hard drive in which I used for the upgrade. I have kept it plugged in. Please let me know how to break the circle of restarting and let it either install Windows 10 or 8.

Thanks!

Louie

Hi @Tardis40,

Thanks for your reply. I tried the Recovery Options in Windows 10 and it's still doing the same thing. The product number for my laptop is K3N16UA#ABA. I've also had a couple of other friends tell me that they encountered this problem when they upgraded their Windows 8 OS to Windows 10. They're still working on getting their laptops fixed. Please let me know what else I can do to resolve this issue.

Thanks for your support!

HP Notebook Stream 13

Hi @Tardis40

I created a USB drive for Windows 10 and a pop-up comes up telling me to "Insert the external hard drive" to the laptop. I then turn the laptop off, unplug the USB drive with Windows 10 and plug in my external hard drive that has the back-up of my Windows 8 on it. After that I turn it on and it's back to the circle of restarting. I think my laptop wants to go back to Windows 8 for whatever reason. Please help!

Thanks for the help you've given though!

Hi @Mrlouiereyes,

There should be no reason why Windows 10 can not be installed on this computer.

Try going into the Bios and changing the boot order so boot from usb drive first. Then insert to sub Windows 10 and try again.

If this does not work  please contact Microsoft.

Please keep me up to date.
