Pavilion 15-n024nr Notebook
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi,

There is a strange, very loud intermittent buzzing/screeching noise from the fan of  HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n024nr Notebook PC (Model #:F4G16UA). A few days ago the fan started running very loudly. Now suddenly the fan is making a loud noise as it turns on, then it stops (& its silent), then again the noise of fan running and suddenly the loud screeching noise comes from the fan. When i put my hand on the bottm of the laptop on the left side, i can feel the vibrations during those loud buzzing/screeching noises.

I ran the system diagnostics quick test and everything came out ok. I also did the components test. All components tested ok except 2 USB ports (which had stopped working earlier, so it was not a big surprise).

Can someone help me fix this isue. This laptop is more than 3 years old, so there is definitely no warranty on it. Hope i can understand what is causing this strange noise from the fan.

Thanks in advnce.
