HP Pavilion DV2000 Laptop makes continuous "none stop" loud whining noise.

HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop makes continuous "none stop"  loud whining noise. This happens when the computer is on and only stops if it is shut off.

The noise is very frustrating and just never goes away.

I googled for clues and read that proplems with the processor power management, something to do with AMD but the explaination were not clear and I don't want to ruin the computer. Here is a link to what I read.

The sound is mainly coming from the left speaker area. So I disabled the sound card but the noise continues.

The fan appeares to be working well and no over heating.

Any clues as to how I can make this stop?

Thanks everyone.
