Do the blue LED lights stay on constantly or do they flash repeatidly?  Have you heard any beeping from the notebook?  Do you have any devices plugged in?

No beeping but the fan is whirring... and the leds stay on for a short while and go off...

My laptop is part of the few eligible for a free repair but I contacted HP but they didnt seem to help/want to repair mine :(

Your notebook is not eligible for the free repair, as your model is not one of the affected units.  [Details Here]

It sounds like your motherboard has failed, or you've got a RAM failure.  Click here to go through some troubleshooting steps, and make sure that you follow the instructions for reseating the RAM (memory).

Re: HP Pavilion dv6000 Laptop Problem...

dv6000 is the model series.
dv6231eu is the exact model.

Your PN (product number) RY598EA identifies the unit as not eligible.

Unfortunately, the only thing to do would be to pay for the repair yourself, or sell it for parts on eBay or etc.  Either way, don't trash it....You never know if they will roll out another service enhancement which could one day cover your model.

Usually, it's $398 USD + applicable tax for shipping, repair, and labor.
