HP Pavilion tx2510us Hardware problems..

[ Edited ]
My tx2510us is suddenly having hardware problems..just had it for about 2weeks..and it was working fine..

1. my keyboard isn't working..(i tried typing but no response.. all the keys in the keyboard isn't working)

2. the wireless switch isn't working..

3. the 3 volume keys aren't working..

4. the mouse pad disabling key isn't working..

whenever i check the driver updates and properties, it says that everything is up to date and working..

i just tried using the recovery option and restored it to factory settings but it's still not working..

btw, i can't use it anymore (unless I buy a USB Keyboard) because i'm currentle stuck w/ the Create a user account in the start-up..I can't type the username and password because the keyboard isn't working..

Re: HP Pavilion tx2510us Hardware problems..

1.  Perform a hard reset - unplug the power cord and accessories, then turn it over and remove the battery...let it sit at least a minute without power and then power it back on.

2.  Update the BIOS:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-66243-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=2093&product=3747931

Re: HP Pavilion tx2510us Hardware problems..

On my TX2604Ca, the keyboard stop working when I turn it on while the computer is in tablet mode. The screen closed on the keyboard facing up.

If you remember to wait for the OS to be started up before placing the screen in tablet mode, you should be alright.

Removing the battery always fixed the problem for me.

I have yet to find the reason for this phenomenon...I only know how to fix it.  The best explaination I've been able to come up with is that there's a power build-up or static within the notebook causing the components to work incorrectly.  Some say it's a safety feature within the notebook malfunctioning..but who knows?  It vexes me.

PS - Make sure you perform step 2 and update the BIOS!

Re: HP Pavilion tx2510us Hardware problems..

are you sure? it seems like a BIOS issue to me.. i mean leaving your computerin tablet mode while booting disconnects the keyboard and sound buttons interface with the BIOS so that way it will tell windows that its not there.. it seems like a BIOS issue to me, and i think that HP will come upwith a solution with a BIOS update reflash atleast.  They say that windows could be the culprit.. but i say that's wrong because the machine while it reboots in the beginning wont even recognize the F10 key to even get into the BIOS.

So i think there is a bug they have to fix... i dont know if this is clear to you guys..it makes sense to me.. because this problem occurs if you boot up in tablet mode, or hibernate and then turn it on tablet mode.

Re: HP Pavilion tx2510us Hardware problems..

Is this an overheating issue.  Switching the laptop off for a period of time allows it to cool and boot.  Once it heats up it fails?

Re: HP Pavilion tx2510us Hardware problems..

I tried clicking on the link provided to update the bios.  It connects me to a comment form.

How can I download the Bios update provided by this response by user Kalt  .... tag - bios keyboard reset tx2510us

1.  Perform a hard reset - unplug the power cord and accessories, then turn it over and remove the battery...let it sit at least a minute without power and then power it back on.

2.  Update the BIOS:  update Bios for tx2510us

Thank you.
