Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)
My HP windows 8 laptop has been having problems for a year now. Everyone I try to log in it goes to a black screen with only the cursor. It won't even let me factory reset, it fails everytime. And I tried system restore but it said it doesn't have any backup date and I can't set one because it wont let me connect to the Internet. What do I do?

You give us the model number of the laptop is what you do first. And it sounds like perhaps a bad hard drive. Tap F2 as you power up and find component tests. Run them and particularly the hard drive test and post back the results.
