Solved!

HP detects no virus protection, but really I do! no lie!

I have a Pav g6 and the assistant says I have no virus protection, yet I am running Norton. There seems to be a logical disconnect. Any thoughts?

I suspect the Windows OS is the one complaining about no antivirus protection rather than HP.  Which version of Norton, is it up to date, and what Windows version is running?

Sometimes the clock being set wrong will cause a symtom as described.

I purchased this unit on 12/22/12. I suspect everything is current. I have been downloading required updates. I used your suggestion about the clock. I forced a different time zone, accepted it and reset my current time zone and the virus issue went away. Thank You!
