15-ay013nr 15.6" Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi...

My laptop : 15-ay013nr 15.6" Full-HD Laptop (6th Generation Core i5, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD) with Windows 10

I tried to reset this laptop to factory state for selling.

At first try I succeeded ( this was by Windows 10 recovery )

And I tried one more time for security...but I failed this time.

It stopped when the progress was 2%.

After that a message ( " there was a problem resetting PC " ) and cancel option appeared.

I tried several times ( by both F11 and Windows 10 recovery ) but same problem and same message.

What is a problem ?

How can I fix it ?

Thanks...

Hi,

Have you created HP recovery USB that you should've done just after setting up this laptop for the first time?

Thanks for your reply

I should have created HP recovery USB ?

I didn't...

Is it related to this problem ?

I just want to reset this laptop to factory state for selling.

Not that it is related, but if recovery partition is corrupted - then HP Recovery USB will help you factory reset.

You have to order HP Recovery USB from HP directly at present scenario, if you need to factory reset.

Else you could also clean install Windows 10 using Microsoft windows media creation tool by creating bootable installation USB.

Hi...

I really appreciate your reply.

I solved a problem. Today I just tried to reset in a same way...and then there was no failure.

I don't know why it worked out suddenly without any action.

Is it possible...normal...?

Does it happen like this in Computer ? ( I am not familiar with Computer and IT )

Thanks anyway...

That's glad to hear!

Anything can happen in electronics.

That is why there are a number of troubleshooting documents, dedicated technical support system etc.

Did you plug in laptop to AC power, remove all peripheral components like USB, CD etc, disable wireless before doing a reset?

May be some glitch in your case?
