HP notebook fell off my bed and one USB port got damaged
05-28-2017 12:02 PM

Hi. My laptop just fell off my bed and one of the usb ports got damaged. I still can use the 2 usb ports on the left but the one on the right is loose. Furthermore, the edge of my laptop is starting to come off. I would like to know what is the best option I can do right now. I have bought my notepad in September 2015 and I want to keep it in a good condition as far as possible.
Thanks

We need exact model number to assess what parts you might need. I am not sure what you mean by the edge coming off.
At as minimum I think you are looking at some significant repair expense here.

Well, I am not sure what more information I can give you for the exact model number but here is what I get when I press fn+esc:
Keyboard revision:78.21
Total memory:8.00 GB
Processor name:Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz
I hope these details help.
Also, I have a warranty which is supposed to cover almost everything for 5 years. Unforunately I am not in the country where I bought my laptop at the moment, and won't be back until the end of August. This means that I don't have the warranty card with me at the moment. Is there any way I can talk to someone in private at HP for that?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
