Hi ya'll smart people!

I've had an issue with the screen brightness keys f2 and f3 for couple of weeks now and I desperately need your help how to resolve it!

The mentioned keys aren't reacting at all and often the screen brightness drops so low and dimm that the only way of seeing anything is to plug it in a charger again, then the screen pops up super bright, like the brightest mode there is, grrrrr...

It's not the battery, as it can be almost full and yet the screen has hardly any light on it. Anyways, those keys aren't reacting at all when I try to adjust it. What to do???

Hi,

Without any description about your exact model, installed operating system, no member in this forum is going to help you.

Only solution I could offer you is to install graphic drivers for your model and specific OS from HP support page

Hi Visruth!

Thanks for getting back to me! The model of my laptop is

E8A65UA

HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n020us Notebook PC

The operating system is 64-bit operating system, x64 based processor

Does that help? I still haven't managed to resolve the issue, though did try the graphic drivers you recommended, but not changing anything...

Hi Marianne,

Which operating system is installed currently - Windows ???

Your laptop came with Windows 8 64 bit, is this the same OS installed now also?

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03919375

Download, save and install this AMD graphics driver for Windows 8 64 bit:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/5405518/...

Restart system.

Check if it is resolved.

If not, update BIOS (if not already done) to latest one available in your support page: download, save and install -
http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/5405518/...

Please go through this HP document before updating BIOS:
