HP2000-2b10NR Failed Hard Disk

HP2000-2b10NR
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP2000-2b10NR that originally had Win8 upgraded to Win10 and now has a failed hard disk.

What are my options for replacing the hard disk and reinstalling Windows?

I'm technically inclined, and could replace the disk, but don't have a copy of Windows. Is the recovery partition necessary to do a reinstall, or can I download Win10 for this laptop with a new disk installed?

MS gives you a free download of Windows 10. Since it has been activated before on the laptop it should reactivate without a key.You can skip the product key page by selecting the Skip button. Your PC will automatically activate later.
