Hard Drive extension Test on hd2000 laptop because it shows on screen automatic repair constantly
08-26-2014 12:31 PM
I have a hp 2000 laptop, just bought in 2013. When I ran test on to check for system errors the screen came back automatic repair and never brings up windows. I was able to get to a menu to run a test on the hard drive. I tsaid Hard Drive Optimized DST test failed. Failure ID is 0GC1BQ-6PD77E-MFGJXF-61UJ03. What do I do? I bought ti on 9/12/2013 so the warranty should still be good.

Hi,
The 24 character error code for the Disk Self Test ( DST ) would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.
As your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP ( with the 24 character code ) and arrange to have the drive replaced - if needed, you can check your warranty status Here.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
Regards,
DP-K
