my laptop (HP Pavilion 15-e051ej / ID E0Z10EA#ABT) froze and windows OS stoped reacting . I then tried rebooting it manually by using the switch off button. Then on restart, it shows for a second a blue screen error and goes to "preparing automatic repair" sign, then the writing disappears but nothing else happens. I followed the steps recommended in the HP troubleshooting section and ran a system quick test activated by pressing F2 on boot-up. The results are as follows:
hard drive SMART check: passed
hard drive short DST check: failed
failure ID: 94SF0C-78L8BE-MFPWXG-60WH03
I have no idea what the above code means but I would like to find out if it is fixable without losing the data stored on my laptop. or if there is a way to save at least only the data. Your suggestions will be much appreciated.

Sadly to say: Most of the time the 24 char failure id indicates the HDD is failing and need to be replaced. Is it still under warranry ? If Yes, please call HP for a replacement.
