How Do I Create This Specific Type of USB Recovery / Repair / Installation?

This is a brand new notebook.  I want to:

(1) delete the bloatware

(2) update Windows 10

(3) update the drivers

(4) install Chrome

(5) install Office 365 apps

(6) set my personal settings

Once all of these tasks have been completed, let's define the notebook as being in its "current state."

NEXT, I want to create a USB thumb drive from which I can fix the notebook (if it breaks) such that the notebook is returned to its "current state."

To create this specific type of USB thumb drive, what do I need to do, and how do I do it?

Create HP Recovery USB, by opening HP Recovery Manager.

If you select to create the recovery media in a USB flash drive, the USB flash drive must be able to hold more than the minimum amount of data displayed on the screen; not all the capacity in a USB drive is usable.

Example: If the minimum amount of data required shows 16 GB, use an 18 GB drive for better results.
If the size of the USB drive is larger than 32 GB, the extra size on the flash drive might not be usable after the recovery media is created.

Please be aware that all data on the selected USB flash drive will be lost after the recovery media is created.

After I perform the tasks I listed, and then create the HP Recovery USB, if I use the Recovery USB, will the tasks be maintained?  Or, will I have to use the Recovery USB, and then do some/all of the tasks?  In other words, will a Recovery USB fix the notebook such that I will not have to redo some/all of the tasks?

No, HP Recovery USB will contain everything as it is from factory as you got it when new.
HP Recovery USB is created from HP Recovery partition which is present in hard drive. Its creation doesn't depend on what you're altering in system drive.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying that the HP Recovery USB will NOT maintain the tasks I listed.  Thus, if the tasks are NOT maintained, then I WILL have to redo some/all of the tasks.  Is this the correct understanding?

Yes it is correctly understood. HP Recovery USB returns you back to original factory state.

But you can make a whole system image using utilities such as Macrium Reflect Free software after doing the tasks and coming to current state. This system image can be stored in external drive.
