I was told to look on the mother board for ALC and a number i have already tried looking for it in device manager but it is not there, also i have downloaded Everest Home Edition and i couldnt find it on there neither. Need some help in locating it.

Hi,
You should be able to find it under Hardware Ids (Device Manager)
Right click Audio device, select Properties, select Details tab then select Hardware Ids (pull down). Few lines in there tell you the "signature" of the hardware.
