How to enable Hardware Assisted Virtualisation on HP dv6 notebook/laptop

HP Recommended

I have HP dv6 6017tx ,which comes with i7 processor and has windows 7 home premium 64 bit. It has BIOS manufactured by INSYDE (vendor). InsydeH20  ..board id:1657 .. Bios version:F.06

NOw the problem is that I use microsoft virtual pc and want to use windows XP mode on that. For that i need Hardware Assisted Virtualisation enabled. Now my notebook's hardware supports HAV but BIOS provided by HP doesn't give me an option to enable it.I can enable HAV from BIOS (insyde) according to Microsoft but there is no option in the BIOS.

NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO?? HOW TO ENABLE IT (HardwareAssistedVirtualisation)??

Despite having all the hardware and having payed all the money for the hardware i cannot use it according to my need!

Kindly help me

Windows Home Premium do not support Windows XP mode!!! You need at least Win 7 Professional to have the feature. The BIOS F.06 doesn't support VT-i as I have noticed in a different post. You have to wait for an updated BIOS or upgrade the OS to the Professional version..

Dv6-7000 Debian Buster
HP Touchpad provided by HP
HP Microserver Gen8 10TB Debian Server

Hey  thanks pepe999 for a reply!

Well Windows Home Premium does support it and the difference between professional version and home prem. is that professional version has xp mode provided in its installation whereas For Win 7 Home Premium you will need to download it's setup from the microsoft website.

What you are talking about is an inbuilt package which Win7 professional provides! So there is no fun in upgrading the OS.

The main issue is how to enable HAV technology ! since my bios does not give me an option.

Firstly i dont think HP will provide me with an upgrade

Secondly if they do provide me with a new BIOS i don't think they'll provide me with a virtualisation option since they have hidden it in this version also. That's very wrong of HP.

I just don't know what to do now!
