Hp Envy 17 Broken left internal hinge mounting

17-J141na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP envy 17-j141na which still has extended warranty cover. The left hinge internal mountinghas just crumbled inside the case and the bottom cover has come away. I have just found out this seems to be a common problem.

What do I need to do to get the hinge repaired? I can not use the laptop as the screen is loose and the bottom panel will become damaged.

Thank you for your help

@Bryaire

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Hp Envy 17 Broken left internal hinge mounting

Hi,

I am already in correspondence with a HP associate, they seem to be unwilling to repair the hinge despite it is CLEARLY a design flaw on HP's part.

I am back on the forums to keep highlighting HP's problem and their unwillingness to help their customers who paid 800 euro for a laptop that won't close properly.

Hp Envy 17 Broken left internal hinge mounting

Hi,

I have a HP envy 17-j150ca. The left hinge internal mounting is not working properly inside the case and the bottom cover is starting to pull away from the body casing.

What do I need to do to get the hinge repaired? I can not use the laptop as the hinge and bottom panel damage increases with each use.

Thank you for your help
