I cannot connect to wi-fi modem after changing wi-fi modem password. laptop HP envy dv6

I recently updated my high speed internet with a Rogers high speed wi-fi modem. Initially I could log into the wi-fi network but after changing the wi-fi modem password I cannot login using wi-fi......my laptop still recognises the old modem password and I cannot input the new password. How do I change the password connection.....it does not ask to change it when I try to connect.

I understand that you need to update the WiFi password on your laptop. I want to help.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Right-click the WiFi symbol in the system tray and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
2. Click Change adapter settings.
3. Right-click the WiFi adapter. ...
4. In the WiFi Status dialog, click Wireless Properties.
5. Click the Security tab and then check Show characters.
6. Update the password, and save the settings.
