Incorrect driver selected or missing correct driver - lt4112 Gobi 4G

HP Elitebook 820 G1
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I've come across an issue where an incorrect driver is installed. I've installed SP70432. During installation I see:

Device1.jpg

After installation completes I see:

Device2.jpg

Looking at the device properties it shows:

Device3.jpg

But where is the correct driver for USB\VID_03F0&PID_581D&MI_03? This info seems to point to  lt4112 Gobi. Thanks.

Regards,

Andrew

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for choosing HP.

I see that you are experiencing issues with a particular driver on your notebook.

As per the Device ID provided above, I see that the HP lt4112 Gobi 4G Drivers are missing. Hence, request you to please install the correct drivers from the link below:

Incorrect driver selected or missing correct driver - lt4112 Gobi 4G

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Uninstalling SP70432, rebooting and installing the previous version of thedriver package (SP70068) did not fix the issue. The following devices are installed by both packages:

HP lt4112 Gobi 4G Module Network Device (In Network adapters)

HP lt4112 Gobi 4G Module Application (COM5) (In Ports)

HP lt4112 Gobi 4G Module NMEA (COM7) (In Ports)

HP lt4112 Gobi 4G Module PC UI (COM6) (In Ports)

HP lt4112 Gobi 4G Module Modem (In Modems)

Except of course the rogue device already mentioned.

Regards,

Andrew

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for replying back, request you to please help me know if you have any external devices plugged in to the notebook. If in case you have any plugged in, request you to please unplug them and let me know if you still see the error in Device Manager.

If in case the error disappears after unplugging external device, we will need to install the drivers for the device being plugged into the notebook.

Also, request you to please help me know if the Windows Update option in Services.msc is started and set to Automatic or is it stopped.

If in case the Windows update option is not started, request you to please start it and set it to Automatic.

Thank you,

Jaswanth

Incorrect driver selected or missing correct driver - lt4112 Gobi 4G

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. There are no external devices plugged in to the laptop. The laptop is managed by SCCM and it delivers all approved updates. There are no errors in the Device Manager console, only the wrong driver as in the initial post.

Regards,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Try installing HP support Assistant and try to update the drivers.

After installing and when you open HP Support Assistant, click on Updates and tune-ups, then click on Hp Updates, then click on Check for HP updates now.

Which will look for the drivers missing on your computer and it will give you option to select the drivers to be installed for your computer.

Incorrect driver selected or missing correct driver - lt4112 Gobi 4G

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I've installed the assistant and followed your instructions. The outcome from the check was install newer Graphics driver, install OLDER Bluetooth driver and install TouchPad driver that is not available in the model's support download page. None of the above indicated the device in question though.

Regards,

Andrew
