My laptop had 4GB of Video Memory. Of that, only 512MB are dedicated memory. Is there a way I can increase the ammount of dedicated Vram that this machine uses?

Thanks!

Hi,

The following link shows its specs:

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04773160

It only has   AMD Radeon R6 graphics with up to 4352MB total graphics memory. You can't increase its dedicated VRAM and system will assign more available system RAM for VRAM up to max if required.

Now, your machine has  8GB DDR3L SDRAM (1 DIMM), you can add 8GB more to the second DIMM. The following manual (page 45) shows you part number and how to add/replace RAM:

Note: This work is for Authorized Service Provider parts only. Doing it yourself may void warranty if something went wrong due to this upgrade.

So does this mean that adding more ram will increase the ammount of Vram/Dedicated Vram that the laptop uses?

Hi,

Plaese let me to make it clearer: Adding more RAM won't increase dedicated VRAM but will increase more available system  RAM for VRAM.
