Keyboard on Split x2 Ultrabook uses wrong characters

Split x2 Ultrabook
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

After getting Windows 10 on my Split x2 ultrabook the keyboard would not respond to the proper characters. There is no num lock key on this keyboard so I could not test if that was the issue. For example when I type 'jump' on the keyboard I get 6ny=.

Keyboard on Split x2 Ultrabook uses wrong characters

Hi @paress88,

Welcome to HP Forums! I have read your post and wanted to help.

I understand that after upgarding to Windows 10, the keyboard is not working properly.

What is the product number of your laptop?

HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number, Serial Number or Product Number?

Try the following link:

Wrong characters appear when typing, changing keyboard language, or Dvorak

Let me know if it helps.

Hi @paress88,

Please try updating following software:

HP Wireless Button Driver     sp71829.exe

HP System Event Utility          sp73248.exe

Also run HP Support Assistant  to update other drivers.

Restart the laptop, let me know if these help.

Hi @paress88,

Was there any Windows Update installed before this problem started?

Try Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 10, 8) to restore a point when the keyboard was working right.

Hi @paress88,

I am still thinking this is the problem of the input method. Can you remove the

English (United States)

United States - Dvorak Keyboard,

and just keep the

English (United States)

US Keyboard

in the language settings?

Let me know if the US keyboard still types in wrong character.

Also, do you have an external connected USB keyboard could test?

Removed United States - Dvorak Keyboard, keyboard still types wrong. Also I don't have an external keyboard.
