Laptop Hard Drive Failure

HP 15 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hello there,

When I start up my laptop it says:

https://1drv.ms/i/s!AqlFLfoZtUPE4nwPqLdVFGRi1iZa

When I run recovery it says something similar.

When I ran tests through the HP program it kept saying that there is an error with my hard drive:

https://1drv.ms/i/s!AqlFLfoZtUPE4nuXzFQMCDUgMvbw

Can anyone help me out?

Laptop Hard Drive Failure

Hello MWF1993,

I have read somewhere that the error ‘0xc0000185’ which is displayed on your system simply states that your computer can’t communicate with CD Drive. It might be due to a faulty CD drive or media, bad memory, faulty interface, etc. I think for your problem, you have to check the BIOS settings again and try clearing the CMOS memory.

Also, I have found the following for you:

http://windowsreport.com/windows-error-code-0xc0000185/

http://www.windowswally.com/how-to-fix-error-code-0xc0000185/

Which will help you in resolving your issue.

Good Luck!!!

Laptop Hard Drive Failure

It would appear that the failure id code "RUV473-7Q589P-XD7WL1-60S803" indicates that the hard drive has failed or is about to fail. The hard drive needs to be replaced and you will need to use the HP Recovery Media you previously created. If you didn't create the HP Reocvery Media when you first setup your computer, you may be able to order it from HP in your region. If HP isn't able to provide recovery media, please see Best2Serve

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
