Last night my son was using the laptop for a school project (it was not hooked up to the power cord) and in the middle of what he was doing it shut off. He says that he never recieved any message stating the battery was about to die. We plugged it into the power cord all night and it still doesnt do anything. It doesnt even show a light that the power cord is plugged in. Has anyone else had this problem and can anyone help me?

Hard reset/restart ?
If you did try everything but nothing helped, I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service - HP Authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you will need to notify HP support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, please contact HP support for assistance in finding one.
