The only way I found on my HP is to disconnect physically the batteries.
I've been doing it for years. It's a small Hassle but at least it works.
It's so much easier on my Dell computer with a software. It's as if HP doesn't want us to save our battery...
I even do it with a docking station but the power has to pass through the computer directly and it deactivate most function (apart from network).
