HP Recommended

I would like to know what is the max memory I can install in my G60-230us laptop, I used a program that said I could use up to 8 gigs of memory in the two slots, can some one help me out.

motherboard is a winstron model # 3612 version 09.54 if that helps out

According to HP's Product Specifications, the maximum amount of RAM allowed is 4GB total.  According to Crucial, the maximum amount of RAM allowed is 4GB as well.  I wouldn't try upgrading to a higher amount than that.

Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*

*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

According to all4memory.com, your computer can handle up to 4 GB of RAM.

Personally speaking, if you are running Vista-32 bit, I would not recommend more than 2.5 GB.  There comes a point where piling on more RAM with do no good.

If you are running Vista-64, 4GB should work fine.

I am currently using a HP G60 laptop an it has 3GB of ram.  I just recently started using it because of a problem with my old laptop and that one had 4GB of ram.

Let me know if this helped.
