I never use drivers from hp.com, they are often obsolete, and support lists aren't always accurate.

I'd rather get drivers from respective device manufacturer, in this case intel.com.

 

The BIOS is "Insyde F.20" (Insyde is the company which develops the BIOS for HP: http://insyde.com/products )

That still does not account for the lack of support for the adapter in the BIOS coding, but If you say it works for you, then I am happy for you.
