Why is HP so shy of giving a Life-Time Warranty for their Notebooks....?

Do you know what is Life-Time Warranty REALLY means ? All standard consumers products have 1 year or 2 years (in some countries) warranty. Not just HP, all of them.
You can BUY option or options to get more than standard warranty by laws applicable for your country and HP has Care Packs, you can extend warranty with your money.

By Life-Time Warranty I mean, that a company should be so proud of the quality of their products that If something goes wrong within 10 years or so, then it should be put right free of charge.
A Warranty of just 1-2 years is too un-geneorous for a world class company like HP.
